LEGACY FOR LIFE
The Israel United Appeal – United Communal Fund is revitalising its Will and Bequests Programme so that we can strengthen and
re-enforce the effectiveness of the division in the overall part of our general campaign. The new Division will from now on be known as "Legacy for Life".

Continuity is a dominant value in Jewish life. In order to emphasize this, and the meaning of a legacy commitment in personal, familial, and Jewish terms, a whole new image is being created. This department will follow the guidelines set out by the Legacy and Foundations Department of Keren Hayesod. Our mission, however, still remains twofold: both to the Israel United Appeal and to the United Communal Fund.

Various options are available for leaving a lasting "Future gift" to the Jewish people and the State of Israel, which will be promoted. These include wills, bequests, endowments, trusts and projects, both locally and in Israel. Through the establishment of a committee including members of the community involved in the religious, legal, accounting and financial fields, together with the professional staff, we hope to form a strong division that will continue to impart the message of Keren Hayesod and support the ideals of saving Jewish lives, building the State of Israel for the Jewish people and always being there for our fellow Jews.

A legacy is not merely a matter of apportioning one’s estate, but rather a reflection of who one is as a person, one’s values, feelings and commitments to others. It is a lasting testimonial to one’s life and an expression of one’s identity with the Jewish people and the Jewish State. One’s legacy is an indelible bond of belief and commitment to which one’s name is eternally linked.

"Legacy for Life" will be one of the most important aspects of the IUA-UCF campaign, and we hope it will have much success in its endeavours. If you would like to know more about this division, or receive our communications, please contact Gerald Zimbler on (011) 645-2503
